Dom

Cornell Engineering grad specializing in advanced math subjects

I am a 2014 graduate from Cornell University, where I majored in chemical engineering, and I am currently working for a pharmaceutical company as a member of one of their research labs. During my time in college, I developed a passion for teaching and had the good fortune to interact with younger students as a peer tutor, teaching assistant, and academic workshop instructor for various courses. Additionally, I have worked with high school students as an independent tutor for standardized test...

My experience with chemistry beyond the high school and AP levels includes coursework in General Chemistry, Honors Physical Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry, plus coursework integral to chemical engineering that is heavily derived from ideas in chemistry such as Thermodynamics and Chemical Kinetics.

linear algebra

My background with linear algebra ranges from introductory college-level coursework to more advanced classes that hinge on a strong foundation in linear algebra including engineering computation and applied mathematics. Specific topics include: -Vector and matrix operations -Linear systems of equations -Matrix factorization, decomposition, diagonalization -Least squares approximations -Vector spaces and subspaces -Infinite-dimensional vector spaces and convergence -Basis, dimension, and orthogonality of vectors -Eigenvalues and eigenvectors -Linear operators and linear transformation -Applications to systems of differential equations and Fourier series

chemical engineering

I graduated from Cornell with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering with honors (Cum Laude). My curriculum consisted of courses in: -Mass and Energy Balances -Physical Chemistry -Organic Chemistry -Fluid Mechanics -Biomolecular Engineering Principles -Heat and Mass Transfer -Thermodynamics -Separation Processes -Process Dynamics and Control -Chemical Kinetics and Reactor Design -Unit Operations Laboratory -Chemical Plant Design. Within Chemical Engineering I focused on fluid mechanics, and took more advanced elective courses pertaining to that subject matter. Additionally, I minored in Biomedical Engineering, so many of the elective courses I took emphasized the engineering analysis of physiological processes (at molecular, cellular, systemic, and organism scales).

Sarah Y. from Roslyn Heights, NY

He taught me very well and just the way I liked it, he used a specific method that most students actually get.

Geoff S. from Amherst, MA

Dom was able to help me with my Thermodynamics Homework problems. He asked me for the material ahead of time to prepare. It is rather hard finding tutors in this area of Chemical Engineering so I was lucky to find online help from Dom. I will be using Dom again. Thanks.

Grace L. from Great Neck, NY

Dom helped me deepen my knowledge of the foundations of calculus, and helped me get over my fear of related rate problems. He is very patient and encouraging and makes sure that you are confident of the material covered.

James X. from New Hyde Park, NY

5 stars all the way. Dom was helping my son with his calculus BC class and I see huge improvement in his test scores. He's very patient, knowledgeable and gave out extra problems for the student to practice. Highly recommended!
